You may know of PARK HILL as a location on the map or as the neighborhood that raised members of the Wu Tang Clan,
but there is much more to the story.
Located in Staten Island, New York, PARK HILL is a community of people from the four boroughs of New York (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Bronx) and beyond; a melting pot of nationalities, ethnicities, races and socioeconomic backgrounds.
The 80’s signified a momentous era in the history of PARK HILL, as the community established their influence on Staten Island and attracted attention from near and far. Inspired by the diversity of language, music and culture that enveloped them, the youth of PARK HILL created a style of their own.
"Because being isolated, being away from what the rest of the city was doing, changing things up every few weeks, we were able to develop our own thing. And when we brought it to the world, it basically felt unknown to them." --RZA
A cultural force was born in the projects of PARK HILL. From unique style to slang, it was a lifestyle that represented a mentality to be the best in all ways imaginable, earning respect and admiration beyond the neighborhood. Those from PARK HILL stood out when it came to fashion statements. All of this would come to birth The WuTang Clan Movement.
PARK HILL was soon 'the place to be', and their story was about to become an inspiration to the world.
The rise of The WuTang Clan gave a brief glimpse into the world of PARK HILL, as the group turned their experiences growing up into a movement that resonates with the entire world; Despite your surroundings and the odds you are faced with, you can still find love, and grow up to teach and inspire others.
Tareef Michael, Creator of PARK HILL and WuTang childhood friend, launched the brand with one goal in mind - to tell the story (PARK HILL) behind the story (WuTang Clan). When you understand this, you'll understand why the world came to love WuTang.
"When I thought of creating the PARK HILL brand, I wanted to share our experiences and lifestyle with the world. When most people think of PARK HILL, they automatically think of WuTang, but in actuality it was the daily experiences and culture of PARK HILL that birthed much of what became known as WuTang. When it came to fashion in PARK HILL, you always had to be on point. The block was like a 24-7 fashion runway. Not that we were necessarily doing anything totally outside the norm of what was fashionable at the time, but rather how we wore the clothing and made the style our own by adding custom touches." -- Tareef
The PARK HILL brand aspires to achieve the following:
1) To pay homage to the place that taught and inspired love, survival, brotherhood, spirituality, music, fashion, and so much more. All of this was a part of the PARK HILL experience and what helped us become who we are today.
2) To represent all. Just as we may inspire you, you inspire us. We are of the people and for the people. There is a PARK HILL in every city, state, and country. Our travels have taught us this. PARK HILL represents everyone.
3) A means to give back to the people and communities around the world. It's about more than purchasing products and building the brand for fame and notoriety, it's about creating a vehicle that can provide:
• Premium fashion
• Financial support to the underserved people and communities around the world
This is the movement we are pushing and we hope you join us with your support. Learn more about our Giving.
